A CKNO WLEDGEMENTS
A number of contributors have given — in work, money, goodwill, time and resources — to this project:
Sean Henry, road warrior and my partner in art. Sean has been one of my best friends for more than 30 years. He was there from start to finish when I did
the first book, and it’s been a joy having his photography and artwork included in this one.
Calibe Thompson, my business partner and creative director. She brought structure, direction and a deliberate approach to the project that made a
difficult process a bit easier, although her never-ending demand for uncompromising excellence posed its own welcomed challenges. Her vision and
guidance brought these images and words together in spectacular fashion.
Kerry Chen, a great friend whose zeal and love for Jamaica and intimate knowledge of the nooks and crannies of the island gave us a clear path to key
places we could not leave out. She also was our behind-the-scenes photographer, and managed our Instagram page at the start of this new adventure.
Hannah Gulics of Island Syndicate, our stalwart senior associate who takes on all our projects as if they are her own, gets the finer details going and keeps
us on track through it all.
Charmaine Wright, one of my best friends, who has worked with me since the 1980s and has been instrumental in guiding Jamaican corporations to see
the value of Pieces of Jamaica .
®
And from the team, David I. Muir, our fearless leader in this project, whose vision started this journey more than 10 years ago, and whose photography skills
and artistic acumen have made this something we all know will be legendary, with lots more great and unexpected milestones to come.
Sean and David both wish to acknowledge and thank:
Karen Vick of Island Design Studio for designing and redesigning the Pieces of Jamaica website from 2010.
®
Vladan Dojcinovic for a stunning layout and Daniil Denchik for bringing additional dynamics to the photos.
Camille and Philip Ziadie of Quantum Multimedia.
Michele Henry of IYA Ltd.
Terry Lau of Imaging Hawaii.
The Jamaica Tourist Board in Florida with special thanks to Donnie, Karlene, Kris, Chris and the entire staff.
The Jamaica Tourist Board ground team in Jamaica with special thanks to Carey Dennis and Ziggy Suglam.
The Island Syndicate Team including Tamara, Yohan, George, RJ and Raoul.
Hertz Jamaica and particularly Nicholas Lynch, who facilitated our travels for part of the journey.
Our sponsors, the Jamaica Tourist Board and Sagicor Limited.
David wishes to specifically thank:
The mighty Muir family, especially G. Wright, Jordan, Masai, Kairo, Caren Clarke, Peter, Susan and Bernie; my Hanson family, especially Uncle Peter; Clover
Thompson; my Witter family; my Henry family, especially Jillian and Patrick; and Charmaine Harris-Stewart of Words2Print Media for believing in me and
motivating me to do the first book in 2012.
And special thanks to everyone who stopped to have their picture taken, to guide us through a cave or down a pathway, who shared their warm welcomes
and pots of deliciousness, and who helped bring this colorful collection to life in any way.
Bless up and one love!
